In the UK on Monday, the number of confirmed monkeypox cases has already risen to 56.

The British health authority UKHSA announced on Monday. By the weekend, about two dozen cases had been known.

GB recommends three-week quarantine for contacts.
She said that a significant proportion of cases in the UK and the rest of Europe have occurred in gay or bisexual men. Therefore, Hopkins said they are especially urged to watch for appropriate symptoms. The U.K. recommends a three-week quarantine for close contact with those infected with monkeypox. Anyone living in the same household as a person with the disease, having sexual intercourse with a person with the disease, or having changed bed linen without protective clothing is considered highly likely to be infected, a statement from the health authority said on Monday.

According to the statement, this group should receive a protective smallpox vaccination and the recommendation for quarantine. Contact with pregnant women, children under the age of 12, and people with suppressed immune systems should be avoided.
